Advisory services in the course of loss adjustment

Operation of power plants’ equipment is always connected with considerable risks of breakdown due to depreciation, maintenance personnel mistakes, low quality of the performed repairs works, etc. Associated costs can reach astronomic values. For example, reconstruction costs at Sayano-Shushenskaya hydro electric power plant after well-known accident of 2009 are estimated at more than 40 bln RUB, and its duration for several years.

Practice of similar risks’ hedging with attracting insurance companies is widely spread in Russia. The key aspects of the insured and insurer interrelations after an accident are as follows: investigation of the accident reasons, determination of reconstruction costs and estimate of share of the costs which will be compensated by the insurer.

Insurance adjusters (physical and legal bodies representing interests of any party under insurance contract) are engaged in these aspects adjustment.

The EF-TEK team has a number of years’ experience of advisory services rendered to insurance adjusters within investigation procedures related to accidents reason at power and industrial facilities, adjustment of losses on account of insurance companies, etc. In some projects, EF-TEK experts took part in arbitration courts as court experts.
